Sumanth Reddy Pottim is a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist with over 10 years of experience in the field. He is currently working at Aetna, a CVS Health Company, where he holds the position of Senior Data Scientist in Clinical Analytics. In this role, he is responsible for leading efforts to build control analytics leveraging an analytical approach to data governance and access control. He is also working on developing a hybrid data environment where data scientists could leverage AWS cloud and Aetna’s cluster together to accelerate the development of powerful analytical models. Prior to his current role, Sumanth worked at Aetna, a CVS Health Company, as a Senior Data Scientist in Clinical Analytics and as a Data/Software Engineer in Data Science. In these roles, he was responsible for designing and developing the framework for metadata storage and extraction for data sources. He also re-designed the access control system of Hadoop cluster to enable better control of environment and transparent auditing. Sumanth led the implementation of Apache Atlas and Apache Ranger in the Hadoop environment and debugged the issues with these tools. He also contributed to the development of these tools to Hortonworks open source community. He has worked on various open source tools including ELK stack, solr, and MongoDB. Sumanth holds a Master’s Degree in Business Analytics and Project Management from the University of Connecticut School of Business and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Pondicherry University. He also has a High School degree from Sri Chaitanya College where he majored in Maths, Physics, and Chemistry. Sumanth's tech stack includes Data Scientist, Research Scientist, Hadoop, Python, Spark, SQL, AWS, Software Engineer, MongoDB, and Apache Hive.
